Executive Function
Coach Training for Schools
Connections in Mind is committed to improving access to executive function coaching for children, young people and adults from all backgrounds. One way we do this is by providing world-class executive function coach training.Â
School staff members (School learning support professionals, teachers, SLT members, house directors, and tutors) who attend our course will learn to understand & detect executive function differences, and facilitate support which meets the complex needs of children in their care. Â
Helping people to develop essential skills.
Executive function challenges are often the barrier to success for individuals struggling at school or the workplace. Executive function coaching is a client/student-led approach to behaviour change. It helps individuals to develop self awareness and to form new habits, enhancing their lives and helping them become more successful at mastering the skills they need to flourish. Â

Our Coach Training for Schools
Most people have an array of executive function skills strengths and weaknesses. Identifying those challenges can help in order to devise strategies to overcome these weaknesses. The malleable nature of the brain’s neural pathways means we can all learn techniques to overcome executive function challenges.
Our 6 week course is designed for any school staff members – teachers, TAs, SEN support professionals, SLT members, house directors, tutors and more – to build an understanding of how to support students to understand their brains better and to build the skills needed to thrive, in school and later in life.

Your Facilitator

Victoria Bagnall is a world-renowned speaker and author on executive functioning, brain development and behaviour.
She is the co-founder of Connections in Mind and has dedicated her life to raising awareness about neurological differences, executive functioning and brain states. She believes that this knowledge has the power to bring about significant societal change by fostering a culture of neuro-inclusion.
As a teacher by profession, her skill lies in translating complex neuroscientific findings into engaging, thought provoking learning experiences.

Liz was working as a SENCO and dyslexia assessor when she first heard about executive functions. This was a lightbulb moment for her, explaining the challenges that the young people she worked with faced.
Since then, Liz has researched all she can about how brains are wired, and having trained as a coach with CiM, has radically changed the way she supports young learners. Understanding how our executive functions affect who we are, and how we get things done, means that Liz wants everyone to be able to have this knowledge, both young and old, and is passionate about spreading the word to young people, professionals, and anyone around her who cares to listen!
